Quick Make over

Today I have been thinking about the 2015 Sealed Pot, it's definitely something worth doing, it's amazing how the odds and ends of change mount up over the year.  I will be opening this years on Wedensday night so I will let you know how much was in it on Thursday.

I have my new pot ready for the new year......something I made earlier today...

A recycled Lidl yogurt bucket covered in sticky backed plastic, in true Blue Peter style :-) the lid has been glued down and well sealed, it won't be opened again until new years eve 2015. I like the idea of recycling these little buckets as you get to eat the yummy yogurt first :-)

Are you doing the Sealed Pot Challenge, if so what kind of pot do you use?

Back again tomorrow
Take care

  1. Great idea. I shall be using one of those money box tins you can get from the £ shop and trying to fill it with £2 coins. It funded a trip to London for us this year :)

    1. Ah, so you had all the £2 in circulation lol. I usually start iff with plenty £2 then they are hard to get! So we were down to bits of change. I know we wont have done as well this year but every bit helps. Xx

    1. Greedy :-) hubby has been told not to dare spend £2 coins this year or put pennies in the pot, they go into the penny jar for the kids! Lol. Hope you have a great 2015 xxx

    1. Sweetie tins are a great idea. I had thought about my grocery budget and maybe everytime I use a coupon putting the value into the tin, do you think thats a tad extreme :-) Have a brilliant New Year x

  7. I use a tin that a 'Pug' ornament came in. I had a real struggle to get into it when I opened it a couple of weeks ago but I've managed to patch it up well enough for it to last for another year.

Love your 'Blue Peter' style covered bucket, what a brilliant idea.

    1. Sue, you always do really well with your Sealed Pots and I love the challenge you did at the beginning of the year.

I always yearned for a Blue Peter Badge when I was a child :-)

  8. My 2015 tin is The Mr. Men!!! I am opening my 2014 haul on New Years Day. I have also collected £2 coins since I read about the Sealed Pot on New Life in the Country blog several years ago. I have collected 50p's for years and I now cannot physically pay for anything with a £2 or 50p coin!!!

    1. Hi Rabbitquilter, Thank you so much for commenting. Oooh I wonder how much you will have in your pot, its quite exciting isn't it. I never spend a £2 coin either, they get tucked into the compartment in the middle of my purse until I get home and pop them into the tin. Hope you get a nice surprise.

  9. I used a gravy tin last year, but ended up with overflow going into OH's big bottle. Maybe a whisky box? I'll have to think!

  11. I have to say, I have been saving extra loose change all my life..I think many Americans do! The bank has coin counting machines, so when the jar gets full, I take it to the bank, have it counted, and deposited into my savings account. When my son moved to the UK, he put his coins in a jar, and his then girlfriend said she had never heard of it, and thought it silly!
