My First Patchwork

Well even if I do say so myself I think this cushion cover is really pretty.  Its also my very first attempt at patchwork, I know its not perfect but I am jolly pleased with the way it turned out. Its something I have wanted to have a go at for a long time and when Mum passed on her cutting mat, rulers and a new rotary cutter to me it re kindled my interest.  I bought a little bundle of fat quarters from ebay to make Willow some bunting for her bedroom and after I had cut all the flags out I cut out these 12 squares, You tube came in handy cos I didn't know how to start putting them together. I might have to invest in a quarter inch foot though, guessing the seam allowance was a bit tricky

I used a whole fat quarter for the back and crossed it over so I didn't need to use a zip, easy peasy.

Just need to buy a new cushion pad now.

I still have the bunting to make but I'm waiting for the felt to come so I can cut the letters out for willows name and attach them to the bunting before its stitched together.  If it all works out ok I might consider making some for presents or to sell.

Thank you for looking
