Introducing for the first time...... my shiny new car!!
Which has today replaced my lovely little Micra, oh how I have loved this little baby, I just hope someone else will look after her like I did, she will be sorely missed xxxx
My New Ford Fiesta Edge :-)
I can't begin to tell you how many times over the past year I have talked myself out of changing my car, its so hard to make that decision when I already had a perfectly good one. I came to the conclusion that it was better to sell while I could get a decent price than to wait until I was getting costly repair bills.. The Micra was coming up to 9 years old and I had bought it at 3 years old with very low mileage, in all that time it has only cost the normal servicing and a set of new tyres, I call that pretty good.
The Fiesta came from the same guy, who is just down the road and I have known for many years, he has an excellent reputation and repeat customers, you also feel he is not ripping you off. I know that because over the past few months we have been looking in his showroom, we have been talking to others who feel the same.
Its 3 years old, just, and has only done 5,000 miles, its the same as the Micra an ex invalid benefit car and to be honest I don't think its been out of the garage much, its immaculate and probably the back seats haven't even been sat on!! I doubt very much that the CD player has been used, as I think you need a degree in computers to work it, I'll just have to ask my 9 year old grandaughter to show me :-)
The Insurance is virtually the same and the Road Tax the same, but my Green Flag cover will be cheaper because it's a newer car, so I'm due a refund :-)
So, that's me sorted for the next 6 years. It will probably take that long to put back the savings for the next one. Its amazing that with just one swipe of a debit card I have a new car!!
I think hubby is a tincy wincy bit jealous, his car is a teenager now :-)
What car do you drive and how often do you change yours.
Thank you for popping by and meeting my new baby.

Hi Karen,
ReplyDeleteAh that's your surprise!
Your new car looks great. Lovely colour, I bet it smells all new inside too. I have a Volvo estate Diesel all wheel drive because I'm scared of not being able to get home when it snows! We also use it for my mums dogs and for collecting wood. It's abig old lump but I feel safe in it and its automatic and like driving an armchair.

It looks great. Enjoy it.

Lovely car - enjoy it, and drive carefully! I have a Blue Daewoo Matiz - now 10 years and 4 months old. Until January [when the exhaust blew, spectacularly, halfway up the M1] I had not had any major repairs or expense other than regular MOT and service. It has done 43,000 miles. And it will have to last me a while longer yet as I cannot afford to replace it.

ps would recommend a Matiz hatchback as a brilliant, economical little car which actually has an amazing capacity for luggage- and is also good for transporting Old Ladies, who can climb in and out easily!
ReplyDeleteI drove Micras for years and I loved them. Before I retired I decided to try to get a new car, so it would last. I couldn't afford a new Micra so I went for a Citroen C1, which I love!
